- It appears that your 2015 Dutchmen Aspen Trail 2810BHS came with a Valterra Flush Mount Water Inlet # A01-0168BKVP. This is a plastic construction and may explain why you are needing to replace it.
I recommend the RV City Water Flange # 372160-85-A-36A as it uses a lead free brass construction. The black flange is 3" which is slightly larger than the 2-3/4" flange on the Valterra so you may will need to seal the old holes and drill for the new holes.

- If your city water inlet has a backcheck valve there is the possibility that it's clogged or damaged in some way that it's limiting the flow of water. There's isn't a way to really fix the backcheck so you'd be looking at replacement of the inlet. If you have a recessed mount design then you'll want part # 37262125, and for a surface mount design you'll want part # 37262165. You'll want to put some non-sag sealant # 344270341437-1 around the outer edge of the flange for a waterproof seal.

The cutout needs to have a 3-1/2" diameter and then the flanges have a 4-5/8" diameter so you need to have that space on your Forest River.

Anything else is going to be larger or smaller so your best bet is to use this one and adjust how it looks on your 5th wheel.

- It does indeed sound like your existing backflow preventer has failed and is just in need of a replacement. For this you can use the Camco RV Backflow Preventer # CAM23402 that you were looking at. The connector has a 3/4 inch inner diameter. It will install behind the city water connection to prevent water from coming out of the city water connection when you're using the freshwater tank and pump.
Replacing the backflow preventer should resolve this issue.
